PROFILE

Mark Darling Profile

Background:

At the completion of his undergraduate degree in psychology, Mark won a PhD scholarship to examine the occurrence of sensory abnormalities within the autistic spectrum of disorders. He was also offered a university-based position as editorial assistant for an international psychology journal. He has since worked with children and adults with disabilities with Disability Services Queensland and as Paediatric Resource Project Coordinator for Queensland Health.

Mark has been using neurofeedback in his psychology practice for a wide range of conditions since 1999. He is also a regular presenter at conferences and training events and provides technical and clinical supervision for school-based neurofeedback programs.

AWARDS

In 2004 Mark established a pilot project providing a remote neurofeedback program for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder at the Hervey Bay Special School. The project won the following awards:
  • Regional Winner: Showcase Award for Excellence (Education Queensland).
  • $20,000 Award for Quality Schooling (Federal Dept of Education and Training).
